Since 01 March 2024, PERI SE has been a member of the global governing body for openBIM - buildingSMART International.
Founded in 1995, buildingSMART International, a non-proprietary and non-profit organisation, has been promoting the digital transformation of the construction industry. buildingSMART has set itself the task of proactively integrating those involved in the industry, in order to develop and implement open, digital standards and approaches for digital construction. This will lead to improvement in the entire lifecycle of the built environment.
PERI has been a pioneer in the area of digitalisation for many years. The range of BIM services that PERI offers, involves the consistent use of construction data throughout the entire value chain. With its membership in buildingSMART International and in local chapter buildingSMART Deutschland, PERI intends to actively shape openBIM for formwork and scaffolding construction.
The non-proprietary openBIM approach improves the accessibility, usability, management and sustainability of digital data in the construction industry. People, processes and data are interconnected, thus supporting seamless collaboration.
“Through the implementation of our expertise in the areas of formwork, scaffolding construction and new construction methods, such as 3D printing, we intend to make an essential contribution to the design and implementation of openBIM in the construction process”, explains Sven Peper, Head of Group BIM Management.
openBIM will extend the range and depth of BIM results by complying with international standards and generally defined work processes. All those involved are flexible in their choice of technology. This creates a common direction and language. Thus, representing huge advantages for the entire construction industry.
